Karen’s calling to Awaken and Harness Creative Power! lights her up.

She deeply believes that creativity is an innate human quality and is not only about making art – it is about making our lives.  She pursues her mission in many ways as a Professional Artist/Illustrator who does mixed media work and illustrates children’s books through her company, Studio Light Illustration.  She is also a Creative Coach and Teacher at her other company, HowDoodle, where she help Creatives who are struggling with Executive Functioning. She does this because she firmly believe that the world needs Creative ideas, voice, vision, and curious, playful, imagination to make this a better world for all.

Her toolbox is honed from a lifetime of making art, over two decades of teaching, mentoring, and coaching thousands of people of all ages and all backgrounds, studying community arts, her work in social justice, healing arts, and connecting with ideas and people in the realm of empowerment and expanding consciousness. She have a BFA from Xavier University and an MA in Cultural Management from City University London as well as several coaching certifications.
